POSTER PRESENTATION EVALUATION CRITERIA

For each component is given score from 1 to 5.

Content of Poster (total number of points multiplied by 2)

  • Catchy title reflecting content of poster
  • Research problem clearly stated
  • Context and importance of research demonstrated
  • Clear and concise materials and methods
  • Results easily and clearly interpreted
  • Conclusions to point, corresponding to problem
  • Key terms defined and jargon avoided
  • Grammar, spelling, punctuation
  • Appropriate amount of details

Poster Display

  • Overall appeal (balanced composition, catchy)
  • Contribution of colors to understanding, not distracting
  • Font (size, style, quality)
  • Highlighting of major concepts
  • Short text segments
  • Legible pictures, figures and legends (size, font, contrast)
  • Effective use of space (concise, min 20% empty space)
  • Figures convey results effectively (simple, to point)

General

  • Straight story line in a logical order
  • Simplicity appropriate for audience
  • Clear ‘take home message’
  • Possible further implications of the research work
  • Ability to answer questions
  • Adherence to time limit
  • Contribution of the students to the research
