Assoc. Professor Dimitrios Farmakis is a leading international authority in modern cardiology, with major contributions in heart failure, haemoglobinopathies, and cardiovascular pharmacology. He received advanced, highly specialized training in cardio-oncology at Inselspital, Bern University Hospital, and in heart failure at Zurich University Medical School, and further distinguished himself through advanced training in clinical trials at Harvard Medical School in Boston. With more than 220 scientific publications, he has shaped European and international clinical guidelines and influenced contemporary cardiovascular practice. Prof. Farmakis stands at the forefront of cardio-oncology, a rapidly evolving field redefining the care of cancer patients. A Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology, he has played a key role in international guideline development and high-impact scientific initiatives.
