Assoc. prof. Nikolay Yanev (DMD, MD, PhD) was awarded most prestigious medical honor in Bulgaria after accomplishing Southeast Europe’s first ever surgical intervention of a jaw tumor surgery with 3D Printed Individual Implants by combining numerous technologies from different parts of the Europe.
Assoc. prof. Nikolay Yanev (DMD, MD, PhD) is a Consultant Surgeon at the Specialized University Hospital for Maxillofacial Surgery in Sofia and an Honorary Clinical Fellow at the Royal Derby Hospital, UK. After completing his dual degree at the Medical University Sofia and a Specialty Maxillofacial Program in his home country in 2011, he has accomplished Head and Neck Fellowships and an Orthognathic Fellowship at the University College London Hospital (UCLH) and Royal Derby Hospital UK at Royal Derby. Assoc. prof. Yanev has a distinct professional interest in the free flap reconstructive field, not only as a career plan, but mainly as a personal mission to assist in bringing the contemporary facial surgical practice back to life in such Eastern European regions, where it hasn’t had much chance to ever grow and develop.
