Biography

Professor Mervyn Singer is a renowned consultant in intensive care medicine at University College London (UCL) and UCL Hospitals. He is also the Director of the Bloomsbury Institute for Intensive Care Medicine. His research focuses on sepsis, shock, and hemodynamic monitoring, and he is known for developing the esophageal Doppler hemodynamic monitor, which is widely used internationally.

 Professor Singer was key in developing the UCL Ventura CPAP device for COVID-19 patients. He was honored with an OBE in 2024 for his contributions to critical care.
