

Assoc. prof. Giacomo Grasseli
Biography
Giacomo Grasseli is an associate professor in Anesthesiology and Intensive therapy in the University of Milan, Italy. As well as in anesthesiology and reanimation he has also specialized in medical oncology. He has been a research fellow in the Critical Care department of the St. Michael’s Hospital, University of Toronto, Canada. He is a member of the Italian Society of Anesthesiology, Resuscitation and Intensive care and is Italy’s representative at the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM).
Dr. Giacomo Grasselli coordinates a network of intensive care units in northern Italy, one of the hardest-hit regions. He has numerous research publications and citations, the latest of which are concerning the COVID-19 outbreak in Italy, its connection to ARDS and risk factors associated with increased mortality among these patients.
